(2) Installing the SIM card/eSIM

For SIM cards, please follow the steps below to install

I. Purchase a SIM from Amazon.

Ⅱ. Reserve and activate the SIM

III. After arriving at the location, insert the SIM card and turn on data roaming, and you will be automatically connected to the Internet

IV. If you are unable to connect to the Internet, please set your APN or contact LINE Customer Service.

For eSIM, please follow these steps to install

I. Purchase an eSIM from Amazon

II. Make a reservation and wait for issuance

III. Select “Mobile Communications” from “Settings” on your phone

IV. Tap “Add eSIM” -- “Other Options” -- “Use QR Code”

V. Scan the QR code--select “Activate eSIM” and complete mobile communication settings

Ⅵ. After arriving at the location, turn on/activate the added eSIM and then switch to that eSIM

Ⅶ. Turn on data roaming within the added eSIM line

When scanning in-country, you will see “Activating...” or “Could not activate...” will be displayed. or “Could not activate” may be displayed. This is normal, so please do not worry.
